Isofoam SA produces IsoBoard

Isofoam South Africa (Pty) Ltd was established in 1995, by the Kharafi Group of companies, with the aim to introduce Extruded Polystyrene (XPS) Insulation board into the South African Building Industry.

XPS board was developed overseas roughly 30 years ago and provides the user with a foam board which retains heat flow resistance the best of all the common foam brands available on the market.

The extrusion plant was commissioned during early 1996 at a factory in Atlantis near Cape Town. In excess of 1 million square meters of product is manufactured per annum. Production capacity will be increased again at the end of 2008

To date distribution centers have been established in Pretoria, Cape Town and Durban, with warehouses in George ,Port Elizabeth and Bloemfontain

IsoBoard has been tested and certified by the AGREMENT BOARD of South Africa. (Agrement is a Government sponsored accreditation authority which operates as an independent examiner of alternative building systems.) Primary testing of the physical properties has been conducted by Standards SA, fire testing performed by Firelab at the CSIR to ensure compliance with the National Building Regulations SANS 428. These accreditations reinforce confidence in IsoBoard's performance.
